Galette is one of my favorites go to dessert, since it is raining apples, I came up with this idea of baking something out of them and galette was the first thing which I could think of. This recipe is is very easy, the dough does not need too many ingredients and takes less time to bake!
1 1/2 cup- all purpose flour
1/4 cup- powdered sugar
1 tbsp- salt
10 cubes- unsalted butter (cold)
2 tbsp - lemon juice
Add flour and salt to a food processor and mix it for 2 minutes.
Add butter to this, make sure that butter is cold!
Keep mixing for another 2 minutes and add 4 tbsp of cold water so that it is easy to bind.
Knead the dough for 5 minutes and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour.
Till then cut some fresh apples, add lemon juice and powdered sugar, give it a nice mix!
Once the dough is refrigerated, lay flat on the baking tray make sure you grease the baking tray properly.
Start placing the apples from the center of the dough and wrap it very gently.
You can sprinkle some sugar before baking it, bake it at 200 degree F for 20 minutes.
Your galette is ready, it is best to serve it hot with a scoop of ice cream but you can always have it as it with some wine!
